A contemporary design is just one attribute of this diminutive, yet appealing deck. An overall feeling of spaciousness is achieved in a small area (550 square feet) due to the creative changes in angle and space.
This design would work extremely well on an odd-shaped lot, or where existing trees or other landscape features require some ingenuity and imagination to achieve a good "fit." Benches are built between matching planters in an area outside of the living room for an intimate seating arrangement.
The deck extends outward dramatically to create a large area outside of the family room, with plenty of space for a table and chairs. Railings surround the deck for a finishing touch, as well as for safety.
A simple single step down provides access to ground level in three different corners of the deck.
